TGIF tomorrow...or should I say in 2 hrs.

Hudson Jeans,Coach bag

Otter pops

A new summer button down I bought at a thrift store yesterday. It kind of a washed out denim with little stripes. Its so comfy and fits well. Not too baggy and not too tight.  Think it might be a little boys shirt. hehe.  Thinking of cleaning out my closet and getting rid of some clothes. Should I do etsy or sell off my blog? Hmmmm.
Oh and I bought me some otter pops!! The weather better get warmer or I'm just gonna have to eat them with my sweater on.

Outfit: Thrift store shirt, Hudson Jeans, Vintage Coach bag and target sandals.

Canadian Design: Dace

Found this collection while doing research on Canadian designers.  Dace Moore creates some amazing simple, cute peices that resembles anthropologie.  Here are a few images that I loved.
Hope you all are doing great!

Sorry, the picture didnt come out so well. There's a better picture from the actual collection. This dress is one of my favorites. Its a rich green color that has such a vintage feel to it. I feel totally old hollywood glamour when I wear it. haha.
Anyway, I hope all of you are doing well. I will post pictures of my finds from HOBOS later this evening.

Thrift Excursions: Redlands

About to head over to Redlands to do a lil thrifting.  My friend Casey, who is a great photographer (visit his site here. He's AMAZING. ) lives there and so we go there from time to time to hang out.  There's a really small but cute vintage store called HOBOS that I found some great stuff for a reasonable price last time that I am dyeing to go to again.  Anyway, I will post pics of my finds later!

Oh and I just bought amazing coral nail polish that is really fun!

June Gloom

6.06.09

So the weather has been weird.  Cold and overcast on some days and somewhat sunny on others. I never know what to expect during the day anymore... Oh well.  I hope it stays sunny for good.
I almost bought some otter pops from rite aid but at the time it was cold and rainy so I opted for a hot coco instead.  I slept in for 12 hours. wooow. It felt good.  I am well rested and my back isn't bothering me much today.
Oh and if you are in LA go check out my friends band, Castledoor at Spaceland.  They have a residency this month every mondays!

Outfit: Alexander McQueen for Target, Ralph Lauren sunglasses and J.Crew wedges from years ago...

Style File: Bjork

I'm a long time fan of Bjork. She's absolutely brilliant and I have had the chance to see her play about 4 times in my life.  She just released a live dvd of her most recent tour and I cannot wait to see it.  Her concerts are such an amazing production and when you go, its like you are entering into another world.  Much like a Alexander McQueen show.  Anyway, she is a big inspiration and her style is so crazy but yet she makes them so cool that only she can pull them off.
Here is a link to the Interview magazine article.

Street Style: LA

I randomly came across Lucky Mag's street style page online and looked under LA's feature which was way back in March.  And I had forgotten I was in it.  Anyway, I looked at the comments and one of the comments said that everyone's style in LA is always "vintage" and "thrift" store bought and how we all super sloppy and moth eaten. haha.  But really, I looked at my closet and most of the things I own are from random thrift stores, vintage stores, garage sales, swap meets and flea markets around LA.  In fact, I cant remember the last time I bought something "new". So, I hold my head up high and am proud of the hundreds of dollars I save by shopping 2nd hand even if someone says i look moth eaten. haha. As for the sloppy part...I dunno what to say. Guess she's just not a big fan of the baggy look, eh? *shrugs*
I should have more pics up soon.

Tie Dye...Really?

So I've been seeing tie dye as well as ombre more and more pop up in collection all over the spectrum. Whenever I think of tie dye, I just get this flash of vivid colors like a bad acid trip or something.  Or the times my mom would send me off to camp and we'd come home with a tie dye shirt we made.... you all know what I'm talking about.  Anyway, I have come to the realization that I don't really mind it if its done with the right colors, fabrics and in the right context.  The key word for me would be: Subtle. Understated but very present.
Here are few that I really like.  From Top to Bottom: First two are: Shabd Simon- Alexander (everything is hand dyed and she also is multi artistic in art and photography.) TopShop dress and scarf, Helmet Lang dress, Berardi dress and American Apparel leggings.
