Upon looking for inspiration, I stumbled across a wonderful blog, Hello Sandwich. Its all images of store fronts and cafes as well as cute japanese things. Scans from magazines, photographs, crafts. Anyway, I think it captures the corky and cuteness of japanese culture. It really made me miss Japan. I especially miss the food. *sigh*
Here's an interview with Hello Sandwich girl, Ebony.
Ohhh, guys. If your ever in downtown Los Angeles, you need to check this place out. Great food and atmosphere! Its right down the road from 7 Grand so you can stop in and either eat from their deli or sit and enjoy the european decor.

I have been wanting overalls FOREVER and now it looks like they are back in style. I scored some blue and white striped ones from a thrift store and am in the process of fixing them to fit me. I also saw a glimpse of skirtalls in Alexa Chung's Madewell collection which I am patiently waiting for.

My friend, Cayla came to visit a few weeks back and she made a video of us making fajitas and being silly. Brandon's dance moves are probably the best you'll ever see. haha.
So, a good friend of mine, Danny Roberts (Igor and Andre) got the incredible opportunity to work on a drawing for Lancome. You can view it HERE. He is such an incredible illustrator! Anyway, the designer Chris Benz whom he also gotten to meet and take incredible photos of his collection (view HERE) has collaborated with Lancome to make a lipstick color called Chris and Tell. Its is the most amazing pinky coral color. In fact in such high demand, it has completely sold out. I don't buy too much make up so when I saw that it sold out, I just kind of gave up on the idea of this magical lipstick UNTIL, last night. Danny, his brother David (Dream Walking Society) and my husband Ryan Baxley were hanging out and Danny was showing me his feature in Vogue Nippon and I saw the ad for the new Chanel lipstick and how I loved the color. Then Danny was like, "OH, you like that color? Here." and tosses me Chris and Tell. I was like WHHHHHHHHHAT? haha. I was really excited. I didnt try it on last night but I did this morning and Oh my, it is such a great spring/summer color! Adds a bit of pop to your outfit. Anyway, Thank you, Danny for my lipstick and Thank you Lancome and Chris Benz for this incredible color.
You can see the color on the model from his show and Danny's illustration above as well.

This weekend I spent some quality time with my hubby. He worked over 90 hours this week!! He would come home at like 5 am then wake up at 8:00 am and do it all over again for a whole week. I think I'd die if I couldn't get at least 6 hours of sleep. I dont know how he does it! He's such a hard worker. Anyway, it was nice to relax and hang out with my best friend. Also found a fun but weird shop which you can see pics of the beaver and bugs having a tea party haha. Got some orange julius, did a restock of our liquor cabinet from costco, ate sushi and indian food, tried out my red lipstick from nars. And got a cool basket weave briefcase to carry all my pattern making supplies! I saw it and thought of the one that Alexa Chung has. Hers is of course CHANEL and more of lunch pail size. Mine was from a thrift store and costed me $1.00 hah. Hope this week stays warm again.

since spring is here. All I need is for the weather to stay warm so I
can wear my chambray dress with my boater hat for picnics at Griffith
P.S. Sorry my iPhone pics are horrible quality. I really need to get a

samples of my designs. Will be updating more on that later... For now,
all I have to report is that in the past couple days I finally got fed
up with trying to find a pattern maker that I took out some books and
taught myself a refresher course, bought supplies and dove right into
it and of course made really good soy lattes to keep me sane. I chose
to do this because I am obsessed with clothes fitting correctly and
perfectly. Guess that's just my tailor genes coming out. Hehe. Anyway,
I want to learn the right way. Sure, i could just hire people to make
them for me and sew them for me but i feel like that wouldnt be true
(to myself) to say I am a designer if i didnt do any of the work/
production myself. I want to know every possible trick of the trade.
And how much more special is each garment when it is handmade & custom
fitted to you perfectly?!
I'll keep you posted how it goes. In the meantime, I encourage you to
take the time out to pick up a hobby you haven't done in a while.
Whether its painting, playing music, taking photographs or jump
roping? (I used to be pretty good at double dutch...haha)

Not a whole lot of people know who Kashmir is. They are the most amazing band from Denmark. They are on their US Tour right now. And its their first time EVER touring the US. This is a big deal and I am so so excited to be able to see them! If you live in Los Angeles, they will be playing here on the 23rd. I promise you, you will not regret it!
Happy Monday!...not. Another week of work and such,eh? How was your weekend? Mine was filled with errands that we've put off for too long aka LAUNDRY, Target, Best Buy, Crate and Barrel... where I finally got an expresso machine. Been wanting one forever! Hopefully, I can master it and make some delicious foam too. Back when I was in my "barista" days, I was getting quite good at perfecting the foam. Its been a while so lets see if I still have it in me. And I also watched Alice in Wonderland and was really disappointed. It's an adaptation of the original but the story line was changed drastically. But I did like the animation parts of it.
