her cause she's beautiful and has better style than you. That denim dress is killing me. Cute x 10000. Okay, I'll stop.

Orla Kiely Fall 2011

Orla Kiely consistently gives a nod to the 1960s with its colors, garment shapes and darling prints. I have yet to come across a boutique that carries her clothing here in the US. I see her stationery and home goods at places like paper source and even anthropologie which makes me sad. No one gets to see these beautiful garments. If I ever make it back to london, I want to visit her store and pretend I am in a 1960s french noir film. I mean no one can execute the 60s like her! I can totally see Mia Farrow wearing some of her dresses back then. Don't ya think?

I CAN'T WAIT. It looks so much more "me" than her last collection. And I almost bought everything from her last collection so, this is going to be a REAL problem. dang it....haha. I love the elements of vintage play with the spirit of rock n roll and a spice of school girl chic in there. What do you think?

32, whatchu got for me?

It's that time of year again... time to realize how quickly time passes and how lucky I am to have such a wonderful life. I usually get really depressed around my birthday because I have such high demands for my life. What I think I should be doing with my life, why I haven't gotten there... too much high expectations on myself and it drives me crazy because then its this forever shadow of stress. Its so stupid. I stress myself out for nothing.
So far, I've had my heart broken a dozen times, survived 2 drug overdoses, played in 3 bands, traveled to 12 different countries, lost a lot of friends, gained a lot more, overcame my fear of heights, lost my tooth to the rivers in sweden, met the love of my life.

Rodarte x Opening Ceremony Fall 2011

When a great designers team up with talented photographers, the result is pure genius.
This new Fall 2011 Rodarte for Opening Ceremony collection is nothing short of amazing. I especially want that crochet dress in both blue and cream, please.

Look book shoots all taken by Autumn de Wilde

Kate Bosworth for Vanessa Bruno

I met Kate on the set of Blue Crush and she was amazingly sweet to me. It's no surprise to me that Vanessa Bruno recruited her for this collection. Kate's style is effortless and entails all that is truly Vanessa Bruno. The scenery really makes me crave to be in the wilderness.

absence makes the heart grow fonder...

Sometimes for reasons beyond our control, we get weary. We get tired. We get discouraged and think our creativity has gone.

I've been on hiatus for a while from this blog because I felt burnt out. I have been busting my ass for the last 2 years of my life on internships that I thought would take me to places that I thought I wanted to be. All of them continually feeding me glimpses of hope that perhaps maybe they had an ounce of integrity. Don't get me wrong. I am not pointing anyone out. I have done over a handful of internships and this is a collective response on internships in general.
I have learned a ton and I am grateful for the experiences but one thing that I am disappointed is the lack of honesty and the way most people handle interns. Let's just be honest for one second here. I am not dumb nor naive. I know that everyone hires an intern for the free labor but everyone covers it up by saying, "you will learn the ropes of the industry". While that might be true, you are also providing FREE services in hopes that they train you and one day get hired. If I didn't think that employment was the direction of these internships, why would anyone bother? So, with that said, I have been patient yet I don't understand how these companies repeatedly treat their interns like shit only for them to say, "sorry, can't hire you", after you spent months slaving away for them.
My favorite excuse is, "the economy is bad and I can't afford you" meanwhile, she's off on vacation every other weekend, tweeting about her new Chloe bag. Get my point?

I am going to be off enjoying my life and not too be concerned about cyber space to clear my mind. I will never stop creating and I will never stop loving fashion. This is not a good bye. Just a break for however long it takes. We've all been there so I'd appreciate your support! :)

Come find me documenting my amazing life and friends on my photography tumblr.
